James has worked full time in the health & fitness industry for over 25 years. He started Unique Results in August 2007 & has steered its direction ever since.He is the co-host of the weekly podcast ‘Health Oddity’ & the creator of ‘The Strong You Project’ as well as a full time trainer at UR, husband to Steph & daddy to Bella & Xander. James lives all things health, wellbeing & fitness & has a passion for personal development, strength, coaching & constant improvement. His goal is to still be travelling, training & snowboarding in his 80s.

Steph works alongside the training team at Unique Results to ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. Steph deals with phone calls, emails, membership enquiries, bookings and any technical issues that may arise once members are a part of the community. If there are any issues with booking classes, payments or any aspect of your experience that need addressing she’s the one to help. Steph also takes the lead in planning our annual events including the walking weekend and ski trip. She also has the dubious privilege of being married to James.

Russ Thorington
Personal Trainer & Group Class Instructor
In his time working as a personal trainer, Russ has worked with a wide variety of clients from retirees hiking up Kilimanjaro to professional sports people.
Russ knows the biggest challenge to most people is walking through the door to the gym. He tries to make every session enjoyable and challenging.
He enjoys watching his clients grow in confidence and develop skills within the gym and the impact that can have outside of the gym.

Tom Sherwin
Personal Trainer & Group Class Instructor
Tom joined the team in October 2023 and currently does Personal Training, Circuits & Pure Strength. He loves training the members & gets inspired by them every session.
He has been training all of his adult life & has tried most things such as Bodyweight Workouts, Kettlebells, CrossFit, and more recently Powerlifting & Strongman. He also competes & coaches both Powerlifting & Strongman.
After 16 years working a corporate job, he decided to have a career change in 2021, qualifying as a Personal Trainer. Aside from coaching Powerlifting & Strongman, he also works with a range of PT clients, from parents at school, to his own parents who are in their 70s!

Alex Nicoll-Bennett
Personal Trainer & Group Class Instructor
Alex has been a member of UR since 2018, starting out with little gym experience but with the help of the UR team & community, was voted Member of the Year 2019!
With a full-time career in London, Alex has transformed a passion for kettlebells from enthusiast to certified coach, now holding Strongfirst SFG1 & SFG2 qualifications. Dedicated to strength training, Alex has also pursued studies to become a Gym Instructor, & continues her Personal Trainer development, enabling her to share her expertise & support others on their strength & kettlebell journeys.
In her spare time, Alex gives back to the community by covering classes, helping members achieve their strength & fitness goals. As a competitive strongwoman in her 40’s, she brings a unique perspective to our team & looks forward to supporting you!

Debbie Johnson
Pilates Instructor
Debbie is a professional Pilates instructor who has trained in Pilates for over 20 years and is qualified in many areas of mat based Pilates including small equipment, pre and post pregnancy and common orthopaedic conditions.
After several years attending different classes and deciding to take a break from city working to become a mum, she decided to become a teacher herself, to enhance her own self practice and allow her to begin to teach others her passion.
Debbie believes that building core strength through Pilates is a great foundation to support your lifestyle and general wellbeing of the body and the mind and is a great compliment to many other fitness goals.

Jake Fletcher
Personal Trainer and Group Class Instructor
When it comes to fitness Jake has done just about everything! Bodybuilding, Powerlifting, CrossFit, Yoga, Spin, Running, Hyrox; the list goes on!
He is all about Hybrid Fitness & competing, really pushing the body to see what it’s capable of. He has competed in countless competitions – including Hyrox, Turf Games, Tribal Clash, and many more so truly knows what the body is capable of when pushing to the max.
He looks forward to seeing what you’re capable of & building on it when you participate in one of his classes.

Andy Eliis
Personal Trainer & Group Class Instructor
Andy joined the team at the beginning of 2025, initially covering a few classes before progressing into one-on-one personal training sessions. As a child and teenager, he was always active, but like many, his commitment to fitness took a back seat once he entered the working world.
Twelve years later, Andy reassessed his path and realized that office life no longer suited him. He decided to turn his passion for health and fitness into a career, training and qualifying as a personal trainer.
Now in his early 30s, Andy is the fittest and healthiest he’s ever been. He continually challenges himself through a variety of fitness pursuits, from adventurous sporting holidays to intense obstacle mud races. Andy embodies this lifestyle to help and inspire others, no matter their age or limitations, to achieve their health goals and challenges.
He looks forward to seeing you in the gym.

Alison Adams
Pilates Instructor
Alison Adams; Analytical Chemist by “Trade” but my passion is Pilates!
Alison has been qualified as a Mat Pilates Instructor (Level 3) for 6 years adding a Level 3 exercise for older adults’ qualification 3 years ago. She has a strong interest in Pelvic floor health and is an “Adore your Pelvic Floor Coach” and level 1 Hypopressives instructor (progressing to level 3 soon!).
She loves her work at Unique Results helping to strengthen, mobilise and stretch the group with or without different pieces of small equipment. Posture is so important in everything we do with focus on breathwork and stability.
Alison is often reminded of 2 sayings about Pilates as an exercise program. One is “if it’s easy you’re not doing it right” and the second is from Joseph Pilates himself “You’ll feel better in 10 sessions, look better in 20 sessions and have a completely new body in thirty session

Established in 2007, Unique Results has grown from a small, one room studio to a 5,000 square foot facility offering a wide range of services whilst still retaining its original, personal family atmosphere. Its founder, James St Pierre, set out to create something very different from the usual intimidating, impersonal health clubs that so often fail to help people achieve their goals. With the help of his small team, together they have created a warm and friendly environment where everyone knows your name. A little like ‘Cheers’™ only far healthier.
The name ‘Unique Results’™ really sums up what the business is about. Each person is treated as an individual and every effort is made to ensure you’re given the training experience you want and need. We know many of our members feel our service ticks all of the boxes which is why our ongoing retention is far higher than the industry standards.
